Find My Rates is an independent auto insurance comparison guide operated by Internet Venture Holdings LLC, a Wyoming limited liability company located at 1309 Coffeen Avenue STE 1200, Sheridan, WY 82801. This policy applies to our website, forms, email communications, and text message (SMS) program (together, the “Services”). By using the Services, you acknowledge the practices described in this policy.

We do not sell your personal information. We do not share your mobile phone number or text message consent with third parties or affiliates for their marketing or promotional purposes.

2. Information we collect

Information you provide to us

Contact information: first and last name, email address, and mobile phone number.
Location information: your ZIP code, if you choose to enter it on our website.
Communications: messages you send through our contact form or by email, and your replies to our text messages (such as STOP or HELP).
Consent records: whether you opted in to text messages, the date and time of your consent, the consent language presented, and the web page where consent was given.

Information collected automatically

Device and usage data: IP address, browser type, operating system, referring URLs, pages viewed, and the dates and times of your visits.
Cookies and similar technologies: as described in the Cookies & tracking section below.

We do not ask for, and you should not submit, Social Security numbers, driver's license numbers, policy numbers, or payment card information.

To create and deliver your personalized comparison checklist and educational content.
To send text messages and emails you have requested or consented to receive, including renewal reminders and savings tips.
To respond to your questions, requests, and support inquiries.
To maintain records of your communication preferences and consent, and to honor opt-out requests.
To operate, maintain, secure, and improve the Services, and to understand how visitors use our site.

4. Text messaging & mobile information

If you opt in to Find My Rates Savings Alerts, we use your mobile phone number to send you recurring text messages as described in our SMS Terms. Message frequency varies (up to 6 messages per month). Message and data rates may apply. You may reply STOP at any time to unsubscribe or HELP for help.

No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Information sharing with subcontractors in support services, such as customer service and text message delivery providers, is permitted only to the extent necessary to provide the Services. All other use-case categories exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties.

We share personal information only in the limited circumstances described below:

Service providers: vendors who perform services on our behalf, such as website hosting, email delivery, text message delivery, analytics, and customer support. These providers may use your information only to provide services to us and are contractually required to protect it.
Legal and safety: when we believe disclosure is required by law, subpoena, or legal process, or is necessary to protect the rights, property, or safety of Find My Rates, our users, or others.
Business transfers: in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of all or part of our business, subject to the commitments in this policy. Text messaging opt-in data and consent will not be transferred to any third party for marketing purposes.
With your direction: when you specifically ask us to share information.

We do not sell personal information, and we do not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising, as those terms are defined under applicable state privacy laws.

6. Cookies & tracking technologies

We use cookies and similar technologies that are necessary for the site to function, and may use analytics tools to understand site traffic and performance. You can control cookies through your browser settings; disabling some cookies may affect site functionality. Where required by law, we honor Global Privacy Control (GPC) signals as a valid opt-out request.

Our site is not designed to respond to “Do Not Track” browser signals, as there is no uniform industry standard for them.

7. Data retention

We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purposes described in this policy, including to provide the Services and comply with legal obligations. Records of text message consent and opt-out requests are retained for at least five (5) years to demonstrate compliance with applicable law. When information is no longer needed, we delete or de-identify it.

8. Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect personal information, including encryption in transit (HTTPS). No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Depending on where you live, including California, Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, Utah, Texas, Oregon, and other states with comprehensive privacy laws, you may have the right to:

Know or access the personal information we have collected about you;
Correct inaccurate personal information;
Delete personal information we have collected about you;
Receive a portable copy of your personal information;
Opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information, targeted advertising, or profiling (we do not engage in these activities); and
Not be discriminated against for exercising your rights.

To exercise these rights, email support@findmyrates.co with the subject line “Privacy Request.” We will verify your request using information you have provided to us and respond within the timeframe required by law. You may use an authorized agent to submit a request on your behalf, subject to verification. If we deny your request, you may appeal by replying to our decision with the subject line “Privacy Appeal.”

California notice at collection

In the past 12 months, we have collected the categories of personal information described in Section 2 (identifiers, internet or electronic network activity, approximate geolocation derived from ZIP code or IP address, and inferences regarding coverage preferences) from the sources and for the business purposes described above. We have not sold or shared personal information, and we do not knowingly sell or share the personal information of consumers under 16. We do not use or disclose sensitive personal information for purposes that would require a right to limit.

10. Children's privacy

The Services are intended for individuals 18 years of age or older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 (or under 18 for text messaging). If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version on this page and change the “last updated” date above. If we make material changes, we will provide additional notice as required by law. We will not use previously collected text messaging opt-in data in a materially different way without your consent.
